Pancreatic cancer is a DNA mutation that occurs in the pancreas. The pancreas is located keep inside your body and its shaped like a fish, its way way back of your stomach. Its responsible for breaking food down and helps control sugar levels, releasing insulin, and much more. 90% of this cancer is usually the bile duck of the pancreas called Adenocarcinoma, the survival rate is 12% (out of 100) and symptoms are upper back deep flank pain, extreme fatigue, weight loss, yellow of the eyes, digestive issues, itchy skin, and a few more. We don't need a pancreas to live BUT it's attached to a lot of important organs in the body including the liver (which is why people die) because the cancer spreads to those areas (You cant live without a liver) and it's also a very very aggressive cancer, so it can grow double/triple the size within months and spread everywhere in the body. Be your own self advocate, Let's raise the 12% for others. Don't downplay your symptoms, seek help, and get a 2nd or 3rd opinion if your doctor keeps saying you are fine. You know your body, keep pushing. Hopefully, this helps someone. If you end up having this horrible cancer, you have options, reach out to organizations for financial help, ask lots of questions and have faith, just because the % is low, it don’t mean you can't be part of that %. If every prayer given on facebook could raise the survival rate, that would be amazing but unfortunately, it takes money. Donate a dollar to an organization that helps patients find a cure. My wife was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She had no symptoms other than she had an occasional side ache. She hadn't smoked in 33 years. She was a non-drinker and active walker.
